Great Eastern Supremacy Scholarship 2017 ( Interview Experience )

This is a real story in 2017.

First of all, I want to stress out that I am not the recipient of this scholarship. I manage to get it but I have rejected it due to personal reasons.

Nevertheless, I will like to share with all of you about this incredible journey that has brought a lot of sweet memories. 

Undeniably, this is an awesome scholarship and you are encouraged to apply if you are eligible.

Level 1 : Application Form

You just need to fill in the basic information.
If you have not obtained offer letter from any university, you need to list down

a) 3 courses of study
b) 3 universities applied to

For my batch, you need to download the application form which is in pdf format and fill in directly by computer. If you fill in using smartphone, please use Xodo app. (from Google play)

After filling in the information, submit the application form together with the scanned
documents before deadline to

scholarship@greateasternlife.com

Level 2 : Telephone Interview

Check your e-mail regularly. If you are shortlisted for this stage, you will receive an e-mail mentioning that you will be called within a few weeks. Therefore, you have to be alert every time. If you miss the call unfortunately, please reply back the e-mail as soon as possible and waiting for their call.

They will ask a few basic questions
about
~yourself / family 
~university / course
~Great Eastern 

For my batch, only 200 applicants were chosen for telephone interview.

Level 3 : Panel Interview

You will get notification by phone and e-mail to attend this stage. You need to arrive Menara Great Eastern ( beside Great Eastern Mall ) at Jalan Ampang on time.  They are going to have two sessions generally.

You are given a lot of articles to refer and write your answer based on the questions given. 

[ For my batch, the question was about money game and time allocated was only 20 minutes. ]

~ Group Interview

In a group, the interviewers will ask any question and all of you reply one by one. 

You must listen carefully when others are talking. Later, they will ask you a question by pointing any other candidates.

# Why your friend deserve to get the scholarship?
For my batch, only 100 applicants were chosen for panel interview.
(4 interviewees + 3 interviewers)

Level 4 : Online assessment + Final Interview

There are two huge sessions from it and it is separated into two days.

Day 1 : Online assessment

There will be Mathematics (statistics) and English (True, False, Not stated) test. The time is very short and please bring calculator.

Accommodation will be provided if you are from another state (outstation). Level 4 will be done in two days consecutively.

Day 2 : Final Interview

Instead of being stressful, this will be a wonderful day for you all. (Trust me)

Firstly, you will have a breakfast and short ice breaking session with all of your interviewees.

Soon, you need to go through three stages in succession.

After every round, food will be provided.

{ 2 in individual + 1 in group }

a)  1st assessment

You are given 4 questions to answer. I remembered that I got these questions.

~Your hero
~Your doubt for future
~What creates the meaning of life
~Best thing of your life

You will be given a paper to prepare mind map within 15 minutes. After that, you will present the answers publicly within 2 minutes. They will call one by one based on the name list.

b) 2nd assessment

Words+Thing=Presentation

This is a spontaneous speaking session. You are given any thing/goods and any words/phrase/proverb based on the numbers you draw. All of you need to present it after a few seconds of contemplation.

For example,

Bravery+Puncher
Childhood+Trophy
Life is Great+Charger

Every cloud has a silver lining+Toy

You need to link both of it and give a talk in 2 minutes.

c) 3rd assessment

You have to study insurance products before coming for this assessment.
They will form a group for you (6 to 7 people per group). Discuss the insurance product that you are going to create with your teammates. For every group, they will provide a note for guideline and and a laptop. Strong knowledge, teamwork, communication and leadership are needed to excel in this stage. 

The format is like,

Interviewer=Investor (Boss)
Interviewee=Promoter ( Marketing Department)

You need to convince the investors why they should support you to invest the insurance products.

●Half will carry out the presentation.
( introduce the insurance product )

●Half will do the Q&A session.
 ( answer the questions of interviewers)
■You need to choose one. ( discuss and tolerate with teammates about the role that everyone is going to take. )

All of you need to execute everything according to the given time frame and the whole process will be supervised.

*Reminder for every interview !
- Introduce your name before doing any presentation.

-Say thank you at the end.

-Wear formal business attire.

The end.

Yeah! It is the time to relax. You can share your precious experience to others.

Before leaving,they will give some short talks. Besides, you need to fill in a questionnaire. They will also give some unofficial awards ( however it is not a guarantee for scholarship )

After going back home, wait for the call if you are the recipient !

Since I am not the recipient, I cannot provide any further information.

Award presenting ceremony will be held for all recipients.
