Part Time Tuition Centre Teacher ( Pros and Cons )

It is common for all fresh graduates assume that teaching children is extremely funny and easy task. At certain period, yes it is. Nevertheless, for some time it might not. Normally, it depends on your perspective.

Let me do a simple postmortem and classify  two perspectives as a tuition teacher based on my experience. ( Pros and Cons )

Good part

1. Experiencing surreal time machine

You are going to re-meet your history when you teach the younger generation. When we were young, we would tend to say everything without thinking, same goes with the children nowadays. Yes, they will say anything without thinking. It was quite ridiculous.

For example,
~When I become adult, I want to marry 14 wives.
~We suffer because of the people acts who  invent the school.
~Chan X X loves Lee X X.
~I am the smartest girl in the school.
~ Ye! Yap X X fart.
~Pang X X did not wash his hands after going to toilet.

For Year 4,5,6, they pretend to be mature but as a matter of fact they are not. They start to have a crush even though they do not understand the responsibility for love. Besides, they will start to play computer games ( addicted and keep discussing it in the school. ) They would assume they became the next Usain Bolt after winning a good medal in the Sports day.

When you see what you ever do in the young age, memory card is inserted again. Although nowadays we use internet to replace DVD to watch movies, the feeling surely is  still the same if it is the same movie.

2. Simple task

If you are not holding any high position, you just need to teach. It is definitely simpler than promoter ( keep standing and need to try to close the sales ) . Since most children are naiver than adults, you will not face too much stress along the journey. ( Depend on your working environment )

3. Flexible

You can apply to work for certain days when you are available. It is not fixed. Some tuition centres will calculate the wage based on hour, week, month basis. It depends on the company.

Bad Part

1.  Too childish

They may do anything in order to get attention. Some of the acts are totally intolerable and irrational. You will see some boycotted children. They will not follow your instruction if you are not fierce.

2. Once you start working, you are not going to be 100% free

Since they are children, you have to really take care of them as they cannot differentiate between dangerous and safe acts. Make sure they are save even you are eating or using computer.

3. Moderate salary

Never expect to become rich when you become teacher. It is not an investment company. As a part-timer, you can only receive basic salary, everything else depend on your education level, experience or even working performance.

Hence, good or bad?

In a nutshell, your attitude determines your altitude. If you put your soul inside the job, you can gain satisfaction out of appreciation. They will be the one who lead our world once we are old.

Thank you.
